Compliance
Nobody asks only for a price any more.
They ask what the nickel release is, whether the plating is lead-free, and how the finish behaves after twenty washes. This page is the answer to those three questions, and the paperwork behind them travels with the sample.
What we can put in writing
Four standards, held continuously rather than tested once. Certificates and current test reports go out with the sample — ask and they are attached.
EN 71-3
Part 3 : 1994Heavy metal content
Caps the amount of certain elements — lead, cadmium, chromium VI and others — that can migrate out of a part if a child mouths it.
Required for any trim going onto childrenswear sold in the EU, and increasingly asked for on adult garments too.
Scope · All plated metal trim
EN 1811
Nickel-freeNickel release
Measures how much nickel leaches from a part over a week of simulated sweat contact, against the European limit for prolonged skin contact.
Nickel allergy is the most common contact allergy in Europe. A failing snap button means a recalled garment.
Scope · Items in prolonged skin contact
OEKO-TEX 100
Standard 100Harmful substances in textiles
A whole-article test against a list of regulated and unregulated substances, renewed annually rather than issued once.
Most European and Japanese buyers treat it as the entry ticket. Without it the trim has to be tested again at the garment stage.
Scope · Full accessory range, Appendix 6
Lead-free
On requestPlating chemistry
Products can be manufactured lead-free and nickel-free throughout, rather than on the childrenswear lines alone.
It means one chemistry to control, so a buyer never has to ask which line their order ran on.
Scope · Every production line
And what we check before it leaves
- Needle detector
- In-line, on finished goods
- Finished trim passes a needle detector before packing, so no ferrous fragment travels with the carton into a garment factory.
- Salt spray tester
- Neutral salt spray cabinet
- Plated samples sit in a salt fog cabinet and are then graded for white rust and base-metal exposure — the test that separates a finish that lasts from one that looks right only on the day.
- Tensile tester
- Pull and opening force, per lot
- Snap opening force and rivet pull-off are measured in newtons against the range agreed for the style, sampled from each production lot rather than each shipment.
Asking for the documents
Current certificates and the latest third-party test reports are issued per certificate holder and renewed annually, so we send the live version rather than a scan on a page. Ask on WhatsApp or by email and they are attached the same working day — +92 322 2436826.
Send us the spec. We will send back a sample.
Artwork, the ligne size, the finish and the fabric weight are enough to start. Samples take about six working days from approved artwork; if you are not sure what to specify, say what the garment is and we will come back with options.
