01Anatomy
A snap button is four stampings that have to agree.
Each one is pressed from strip on its own tooling, then brought together and sprung. The socket curl is the part that decides everything — out by a few hundredths and the fastener either will not close or will not hold.
- 01
Cap
The visible face. Carries the logo or texture, stamped from brass or steel sheet.
- 02
Socket
The female half. Its curl diameter sets how hard the snap is to open.
- 03
Stud
The male half that the socket grips.
- 04
Post
Pierces the fabric and is riveted over to lock the assembly.
02On the floor
Strip goes in one end. A fastener comes out the other.
01 / 10 · Raw material
Brass strip arrives on the coil
Material lands as coiled strip in the gauge the part calls for. The alloy and thickness are fixed at this point — everything downstream assumes them.
Brass / steel strip, 0.3 – 1.2 mm
What we make
Eight lines, held in tooling here in Karachi. Sizes are nominal — every one is confirmed against an approved sample before bulk.

Snap buttons

Jeans buttons
Tack buttons with a driven nail — the waistband closure on denim.
17 / 20 mm
Rivets & burrs
Two-part reinforcement for pocket corners and stress points.
6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10 mm
Eyelets & washers
Reinforced holes for laces, drawcords and ventilation.

Decorative domed studs on a prong, for belts, bags and trim detail.
6 – 16 mm
Aluminium nails
Lightweight nails and tacks for decorative fixing and trim.
5 – 11 mm
Material & finish matrix
Ten plating finishes across brass, steel, zinc alloy and aluminium. Every one below is the same part under the same light, so what you are comparing is the finish and nothing else.

Put your name on it
Most of what we make carries a customer’s mark. Type yours below and it is struck into the die face in real time — the same geometry and the same lighting we use for the catalogue.

What we can put in writing
Four standards, held continuously rather than tested once. Certificates and current test reports go out with the sample — ask and they are attached.
EN 71-3
Part 3 : 1994Heavy metal content
Caps the amount of certain elements — lead, cadmium, chromium VI and others — that can migrate out of a part if a child mouths it.
Required for any trim going onto childrenswear sold in the EU, and increasingly asked for on adult garments too.
Scope · All plated metal trim
EN 1811
Nickel-freeNickel release
Measures how much nickel leaches from a part over a week of simulated sweat contact, against the European limit for prolonged skin contact.
Nickel allergy is the most common contact allergy in Europe. A failing snap button means a recalled garment.
Scope · Items in prolonged skin contact
OEKO-TEX 100
Standard 100Harmful substances in textiles
A whole-article test against a list of regulated and unregulated substances, renewed annually rather than issued once.
Most European and Japanese buyers treat it as the entry ticket. Without it the trim has to be tested again at the garment stage.
Scope · Full accessory range, Appendix 6
Lead-free
On requestPlating chemistry
Products can be manufactured lead-free and nickel-free throughout, rather than on the childrenswear lines alone.
It means one chemistry to control, so a buyer never has to ask which line their order ran on.
Scope · Every production line
And what we check before it leaves
- Needle detector
- In-line, on finished goods
- Finished trim passes a needle detector before packing, so no ferrous fragment travels with the carton into a garment factory.
- Salt spray tester
- Neutral salt spray cabinet
- Plated samples sit in a salt fog cabinet and are then graded for white rust and base-metal exposure — the test that separates a finish that lasts from one that looks right only on the day.
- Tensile tester
- Pull and opening force, per lot
- Snap opening force and rivet pull-off are measured in newtons against the range agreed for the style, sampled from each production lot rather than each shipment.
From your tech pack to the carton
Eight steps, and nothing starts until the one before it is signed off. The slow part is always sample approval — everything after it runs to a schedule.
We start by gathering detailed information about the client’s requirements through meetings, tech packs, or physical samples provided by the client.
Based on the client’s specifications, our design team creates designs tailored to their needs.
Samples are meticulously developed to reflect the desired design and specifications.
Clients review and approve the samples before we proceed to the next step.
Once approval is received, we finalise the quantity and other details required for production.
A proforma invoice is issued to confirm the order and the payment terms.
Production begins, adhering to quality and environmental standards to deliver products that meet client expectations.
The final products are carefully packed and shipped according to the client’s delivery requirements or arrangements.

Twenty-six years of one product category
Dynemic Metals opened in 1999 because every snap button in a Pakistani garment was arriving in a container from somewhere else. We were the first plant in the country to make one here.
One chemistry, every line
Lead came out of the plating baths across the whole plant in 2016, not only on the childrenswear lines that require it. A buyer never has to ask which line their order ran on.
We supply the dies
A fastener that is set with the wrong die fails in the garment, not here. Matched setting dies go out with the order so the press at your end is right the first time.
Local and partner production
Stamped here when the tooling and the lead time suit it, through the partner network when a finish or a price only exists offshore. Same specification either way.
Tested per lot, not per shipment
Opening force and corrosion are sampled from each production lot. A shipment that pools several lots is several tests, not one.
How we got here
- 1999
The first local snap button
The manufacturing plant opens in Karachi. Until then every snap button in a Pakistani garment was imported; Dynemic Metals becomes the first company in the country to make them here, setting a benchmark for the garment accessory market.
- 2005
Beyond snap buttons
The range widens to rivets, eyelets, buckles, studs and shank buttons as tooling is added, and the company begins supplying Pakistan’s larger garment exporters directly.
- 2010
Certified for Europe
EN 71 Part 3, EN 1811 nickel release and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 are certified, opening direct supply to European buyers rather than through trading houses.
- 2016
Lead-free throughout
Plating chemistry is reformulated across every line, so lead is out of the whole range rather than only the items that legally require it.
- 2020
Modernisation and partnership
Collaboration with leading Chinese factories adds finishes and capacity that could not be produced locally, giving buyers one specification with two routes to production.
- 2024
A global client book
Trim now reaches brands across Europe, North America and Asia, supplied either from Karachi or through the partner network — whichever meets the price and the lead time.
Countries receiving trim, supplied from Karachi or through the partner network.
Years making the same category of product, under the same ownership.
Millimetres of tolerance on an assembled snap. Beyond it the fastener does not hold.
Who you will be dealing with
Three people run this company, and all three answer their own phone. Sampling and pricing go through the general manager; anything about a nomination or a new market goes through marketing.

Artwork, the ligne size, the finish and the fabric weight are enough to start. Samples take about six working days from approved artwork; if you are not sure what to specify, say what the garment is and we will come back with options.
